Spring Lecture Series Offers Students and Faculty a Way to Present their Research in an Informal, Constructive Setting

Date
08/01/19

Presented by Dr. Faye Harrison, a valued professor and graduate student advisor in the AFRO Department, a spring brown-bag seminar is held to give students and professors an opportunity to share their work with their peers, colleagues, and professors/advisors. The topics discussed during the Spring 2019 series included African American music, the value of diversity in group settings, Black ESL teachers in Asia, as well as discussions with some of the graduate students who have affiliations with the AFRO Department and are preparing their doctoral dissertations.

The seminar series is always open to anyone who might have an interest in the topic being discussed for that day. There is always ample time remaining after the lecture to ask questions, share thoughts, and express opinions about the work that was shared.
